Sounds like you've magnetised the shadowmask. The tv will automatically degauss (de-magnetise) the faceplate of teh CRt evretime you switch it on (from cold) so with any luck the effect MAY disappear over time. Other than that you will have to get the faceplate de-magnetised with a external degaussing tool - I doubt you have one of these at home so you may have to borrow one form a friendly local TV shop or at worst get an engineer out to do it for you - that would be a pity since it only takes 10 seconds flat. regards, yt

i had this with my old jvc the speakers were magnetic and not at all like new speakers for 5.1.
it took a week but the green which had come in the corner of the screen eventually went.

most new speakers built for home cinema and non magntic field now.

Only if it's not magnetically shielded. If the speaker specifies it is then you can place it directly on top of or below a TV set.

My mate with Isobariks has a terrible time because the magnets on those KEF B139B bass units are very, very powerful. The TV has to be at least a foot away from each speaker, otherwise it affects the purity!
