disable airplay on marantz sr5012

    hi

    is it possible to disable airplay on marantz? we have multiple recivers in differant rooms and want to stop other rooms playing back ove another rooms airplay by mistake?

    I do not believe it is possible with any brand of AV receiver, it must be an Apple restriction... I say that because many custom integrators dislike it popping up and disrupting their installs.

    emm thats not very good, can it even be password protected ? does anyone know if there is a secret engineers menu for AVR like you get on TVs?

    The easiest way to help prevent this is to rename the receivers via their settings to something intuitive. E.g. Lounge, Kitchen etc.

    I’m not sure whether D&M do it but on the Yamaha AVRs you can set an Airplay password via its LAN menu (enter the AVR’s IP address on a web browser e.g. 192.168.0.30).

    Not sure why you would just want to block AirPlay as any of the network streaming functions will allow anyone to playback on any of your networked receivers so it is not just AirPlay specific issue.

    iOS will present playback devices in alphabetical order so to minimise accidental playback add a X , Y or Z to the names of the devices you want to prevent accidental playback on.
