Dirty screen, brand new ...

Standard Member
Just bought (today) a new 42" 720p Panasonic unit, great deal at $599.

The display looks great, BUT I just noticed what appear to be dirty smudges UNDER the plastic(?) screen cover, how common is this? I want to return it for another unit, but hope it won't be the same! It looks like the screen cover was installed onto a dirty display.

Anyone heard of this?

Not an expert but you might have gotten a screen that someone else had returned. Any other tell-tale signs of some sort of repackaging?

Glad you got it sorted. I suspect the unit had a degree of "autopilot" engaged in build and quality control.

"Pannyfanny" translates from latin: "big stick, little affection":D

Here is another:

"Semper in excremento sum, solem profunditas mutat".

"Always in the ****, only the depth varies".:D

I had it as a poster behind my desk but I had to take it down. Can't see why as it's really funny!
