Hi aslird,

Thanks for that. My windows enabled 3d the tv picks it up and shows its a 3D signal, but still can see any option in the game to enable SBS display?

Any ideas.?

Yes - you need a special Nvidia 3d vision 'thingie' (technical term :) ) to play PC games in 3d, just setting your TV to 3d mode will not give you proper 3d. NVIDIA 3D Vision

If you already have this, then i guess there should be an option in the graphics menus to enable 3d.

@colmmcc

I have Dirt 3 installed on my laptop (which doesn't support 3d) and I don't see any option for Stereoscopic 3d either, greyed out or otherwise.

When I take a look at the hardware settings config file I see the following options that suggest mine is running 1.02 or higher:

<stereo enabled="false" separation="0.015" convergence="1.5" />
I wonder if these options are only displayed in-game if the game determines your set up supports 3d?

My understanding of 3D Vision is that to be able to use it on a monitor you need a) a 120hz monitor that has been certified 3D Vision 'ready' (ignoring edid hacks to enable non-'approved' monitors), and, b) have a 3D Vision kit consisting of a dongle & glasses. However, I believe that 3D Vision will also work quite happily with a number of 3d HDTV's (using the tv's own glasses) but in order to do so you need have Nvidia's 3DTV Play software installed on your pc:

NVIDIA 3DTV Play

I know very little about this software but there is a 14 day free trial if you want to check it out (assuming you aren't already using it) and see if that helps.

No, there are other options as well such as the TriDef software which also supports DiRT3 but the point is that it's not all automatically compatible with each other or will output directly. Have you had a look in the DiRT 3 manual and see what that says about 3d output?
