Directsound compatible soundcard for mce?

Active Member
I need a soundcard that works under mce (using directsound therefore) and that can output everything through its spdif.
My RME digipad cannot, so I bought a revo 5.1. This doesn't do it properly either because it messes up and gets confused swapping between 44.1 and 48khz, often sampling at 96kh
Any suggestions please?

Revo work fine for me under directsound and MCE05 - I had to turn windows sounds off though, as you say, they confused it.

That's interesting. What codec is that with?
I find that when I play music it works well (not asio or anything), then later playing a movie (just within mce itself) the revo control panel is sampling at 96khz. If I then open the nvidia control panel thingy and re-select spdif, this often clears it and the movie plays correctly. Sometimes it always works, other times never.
Do you have any realtek (ac/97) onboard sound on your motherboard. Is it disabled? With any drivers on?
I'm using revo driver 1.0.0.

Thanks. Will have to have a re-install.
