Was sat here at my desk and just had an idle thought... !

Got a spare pair of dipoles. If I linked then up to my CD stereo, would I lose any information ? Or would I gain any benefits... ?

Hi.....there are many dipole speakers available, not just in the Av arena....one very well respected HiFi manufacturer that springs to mind is Mirage.

In short, you won't necessarily lose any information, but this type of speaker does in general tend to produce a more diffuse sound field, with in many cases less precise imaging than some conventional speakers may produce.

As with conventional speakers,a lot will depend on the in room reflections etc.

It all comes down to whether or not you like the effect....but,as you have a pair lying around...give it a try.
