    Great forum.

I have recently ordered an LG 42PX3RVA after reading some of the post and seeing one at my local store and liking it.

I am looking forward to having it in my lounge.

However.... I ordered it from Digitaldirect.co.uk on the 16th Aug and so far have been constantly getting the run-a-round from these people. And still with no delivery date !!

Has any forum members dealt with them and what responce have you received.

    Any views would be greatfull

    Thanks

If your not happy about it then cancel your order and purchase elsewhere.
How did you pay? (credit card i hope)
If you have problems cancelling then speak to your credit card company (if you used one)

They've always been fine with me, except with a s-vhs which wasn't in stock. That took 3 months for the refund. I always thought they were't supposed to charge you till they had the goods, perhaps I've been doing it wrong all these years?

I ordered my 42PX3RVA from shopathills.co.uk last week (22nd Aug) and it arrived within 2 days (it's also now £20 and counting cheaper than I paid). Have Digital Direct given you any info as to whether there is a stock shortage or if they're unable to get the TV?

I managed to contact them a few minutes ago and spoke to a guy name Sean.
Very helpfull and explained that they were ready for dispatch when on spot checking a few boxes found that LG had forgotten to include the table top stand. I suppose that's to stop the units falling when you let go..

Any way it appears I'm not the only unlucky punter and Digitaldirect are waiting for the stands to arrive this Friday.

Sean antisipated that all PX3RVA's should be dispached early next week.

Am a bit anoyed that I have had to do all chasing and that their customer service dept do not have the decency to let their customers know what's going on.

Let you know how it goes.

Have managed to find some reviews on Digitaldirect and it seems they are a bit of a mixed bag.

Some cuatomers have had no problem, whereas others have.

Roll of the dice I suppose. Still not good enough though.

    cheers

    Mike

    In reply to Ukdan's question.

I arranged finance with a company I have used before who gave good service, paying the deposit with a credit card. So I am well protected under the Sale of Goods Act. So I am not to worried at this time.

Thanks for your concern it's much appreciated.

The stand is pre-fitted to the plasma and is an integral part of the support for the packing. Without it when you take the top off the box the Plasma will very likely fall over and 'crash'. Hard to imagine that LG could ship them without such a vital component. Good excuse though.

Enjoy the TV when you get it.

Thanks Mat. Will phone them again tomorrow.

I should have cottoned on as I am in the business of hearing lame and quite bizare excuses day in day out.

Put it down to the expactant and excited frame of mind of getting a 42" T.V.

    Cheers

 Contact Digitaldirect again to-day and spoke with a Nigel. He was very helpful and confirmed that they were waiting for the pedestal stands. I queried this as I found it hard to understand that a company like LG would make such a simple cock up. Nigel replied that the pedestals were sourced from a 3rd party hence the delay. He sounded very convincing but there did seem to be a slight wiff of bs around. Was not at all fazed when I threatened to cancel my order.

    Let you know

    cheers

Attached should be a picture of how my TV arrived all I did was lift it out of the box and put it on the (temporary) table. Notice the stand is firmly attached.

Spoke to their Manager on the 6th who was very apologetic about the misinformation I had received from their sales staff. He would certainly speak to them and voice my concerns. He confirmed that the table top pedestal was part of the design and NOT sourced from a 3rd party supplier. He stated that the reason for the delay was that they had experienced a huge demand for the XP3RVA and had simply run out of stock. On re-ordering from LG someone at DD cocked up and instead of ordering 20-30 units placed the order for 100 units. Without having the resources to pay for such a large order LG withheld delivery. DD have now re-adjusted the order and delivery is in transit. I have been promised that as soon they come in mine will be delivered.

I have phoned around a few places and am unable to secure any definite delivery times from anyone. So perhaps there is a shortage of these new LG's

I hope the wait is going to worth while ?????

    cheers
    Mike
