    Hi

I'm new to Digital Camcorders. If a camcorder has 10x Optical and 500x Digital. What does it mean?

Does my old Analogue 30x have a better zoom?

    Thanks.

Have been looking for a new digital camera myself and found this site very good
    www.alldigitalcamera.net
Go to Daves guide to buyer, and in there is an explanation of digital and optical zoom lenses.Hope this helps :)

Optical zoom is more important as this is a physical zoom by using the lenses.

Digital zoom is done with the built in software by increasing the resolution of the pixels. So the larger the zoomed image the grainier the picture.
