A quick update. According to the woman from Play I spoke to on the phone the manufacturers have delayed release. Play are waiting to be given a new release date

Can anyone tell me whether digital video essentials will gain me anything over AVIA? Yes i know that i will get it in PAL as well as ntsc, but is the fact that this is DIGITAL ve to suggest it will be much better for digital displays than avia which was not designed with that specifically in mind?

    many thanks

I think the main gain is that many displays dont carry settings over to PAL when setup with NTSC source

DVE is also the first test disc to carry 6.1 sound format test signals, which was the main reason for my purchase.

Well buns, I have already forked out and had my plasma ISF'd, and also own Avia, and also bought DVE!

Does that help? Or does it just mean I need help?

I think it was about £200 for the ISF certification. It was a while ago now, but I know it was in that ballpark. Gordon did it, so I am sure he can give you a quote for your PJ if you are thinking seriously about it...

I ordered my Digital Video Essentials (PAL) on 1st Dec -- and so far I've emailed them three times with no response at all... and I'm only asking for a status of the order.

    Anyone had any problems ?
