Does anyone know how much the digital upgrade for the aconda costs i.e. to turn it into a digital tv without the need for a set top box? I was thinking about getting one and then using my ITV digital card when I want to watch any channel that you have to pay for, like sky sports etc.

I've just ordered myself a Loewe Vitros and was considering the digital tuner upgrade. I can't believe it's that cheap! Does it have similar fatures to a STB e.g. digital text services, and does it have a program guide? Finally, where can you get/order them from?

In the past the digital tuner modules for Loewe's didn't incorporate any slots for viewing cards. They were just free to air things. Might be worth checking.

Sorry to drag this out, but has anyway ever seen, used, or have definite information on these digital tuners? Does it effectively replace one of the analogue tuners? If it's only free-to-air it still might be worth it. And where do you get them from - I haven't found anywhere that can give me any information (even the Loewe website).

    Cheers!

Have you called Loewe UK in Prestwick, Scotland or Linn Products (owners of Loewe distribution).

I'm pretty sure they should be able to give you definative info. I'll try and speak with them tomorrow and see what they say...

If you get the digital tuner installed in a Loewe Aconda are the 2 card slots under the flap on the front of the t.v. not used for viewing cards. If not when/how do these card slots come into play.

Just called Loewe about another matter and asked what the script was with the digital tuners....

They are free to air only and will not accept any viewing cards.

Unless they're released a new upgrade recently, the Digital TV module in question is a digital satelite decoder, anyway. AFAIK, they don't do a digital terrestrial tuner yet.
