The target has now been moved to 2012. The Govt still insisting the 2010 target can be met, but they now acknowlege there will be some resistance. On the full speed ahead front though, they are ging to do a trial switch off in Llanstephan/Ferryside area of South Wales in the next few MONTHS they say, and other areas will commence in 2007 for certain... well as certain as any target.

I wish they'd push for earlier. The amount of VCR's. TV's and DVDR's still coming out with analogue tuners is pathetic. Analogue is finished now but inertia will keep these products rolling into the market place for several years.

I think any TV maker would do well to put purely digital tuners in all their TV's from now on. Anyone who wanted analogue would then have to use an analogue VCR as a tuner. I'm sure they would cry foul but there must be more people who are inconvenienced by having to have a digital STB than there are people who simply can't receive a freeview signal.

What I want to see is an LCD tv with 2 digital tuners and a hard drive built in with full pvr functions. Now that would be a winner.

Sounds like a recipe for lot of things to go wrong in one box.
