I've just bought a Phillips FV box with a digital out (SPDIF). I assume this is a coaxial digital and I've connected it to my amp's digital (coax) in - with what I think is a coax cable (it looks like a normal phono lead).

I am getting the sound from my amp when I switch to 'Aux' - but it's just in stereo. Do any FV channels broadcast in DD or am I missing something?

I am sure your Amp has ProLogicII it should be able to extract simulated surround from the stero signal.

Thanks Guys. It does have PLII - so it's not really giving me anything over and above the sound from the scart (which goes to my DVD Recorder)...which in turn supplies the audio (via Optical digital) to my amp.

Just hope that FV eventually goes for Dolby Digital.:dd:
