My fried bought a laptop there a few weeks ago. He was hoping to use it for a dvd player (it has a s-video out) but there is no connection for a digital signal. There is no spdif, optical or coaxial out for the sound. Does any one know of cheap anyadd on for a laptop that can give out the signal. He will be buying a seperate decoder.
    Cheers

There are USB based solutions for sound, but they are not cheap. I seem to remember Yamaha doing USB based sound processors but again having never heard one I can't comment on quality.
