I've an Audigy souncard with the internal Live drive that I'd like to hook it up to my Sony receiver STRDE835. What kind of digital connection do I need? Can I use any mono 3.5 to single RCA cable??

Confused as to what kind of data rate is output as well?

Any recommendations on a cheap speaker package for the set-up.

    Thx in advance JJ

OK got a cable - a cheap coax 3.5mm to RCA - how do I get 5.1 to a DD amp? I've changed the speakers in control panel to 5.1 and am using PowerDVD but no 5.1 output through both the live drive or 3.5mm jack. What am I doing wrong?

Robpaul, any radio bits shop will knock you up a starter cable for £10 or so, for better quality, try www.custom-cable.co.uk They'll make anything to spec.

Rob - mine's a real cheapy, but what's the point when everything's at 2x speed!

I thought that Chord did one as well, but can't find it on their site. Could have been a 3.5mm to 2xRCA now that I think about it.

Anyone got an ideas on my problemo?? Software related? PowerDVD maybe?

Here's the solution for anyone else interested...

When I built the PC I installed an SBlive card. With XP I had to download the new drivers for it. When I insatlled a Audigy it was running the XP drivers but not the correct ones. So I un-installed the existing drivers and installed the proper ones - problemo fixed.
