I can second that recommendation. When using the speaker phone people on the other end can hear a slight ambience in the signal but I have had no complaints.

    Hello
Has anybody tried the phone with the hands-free kit? Does it sound OK?

Is it easy to mute the phone? I ask because I am often on conference calls and would like easy mute/un-mute.

The hands-free is to make a cuppa of tea during some particularly long calls :))

I use the Philips Zenia and it is really good. You can swap between hands free at any time during the call which is great if you are phoning a call centre and have to wait for 20 minutes !!

I have a Samsung SC5000 ( I think) Tiny little phone, with flip front, looks just like a mobile.
Not speakerphone as such, but comes with an earpiece and mic, for wandering about with the phone in your back pocket.
Great bit of kit, easy to use, battery lasts ages, can't really fault it at all.

Do some of the other phones not let you switch between hands free and hands on.

I'm not sure about cordless phones but the ones we have at work (corded phones) do not let you go back to hands-free once you have gone to hands on. It's worth asking the specific question if you are looking at a particular model.

If you do decide which one to buy :D , may I suggest taking a look at http://www.pmctelecom.co.uk

Seem a lot cheaper, and worked fine for me and a few freinds.
