Possibly with Dolby Pro Logic depending on the programme. The Simpsons, most new american drama/TV series will be encoded this way. Sometimes the simpsons can sound great. Its not discrete like on a DVD, and two analogue phono cables can deliver the same result so you don't need the digital output, but given the choice use it.
