Hi, I have a Goodmans GHC56PRO 5.1 system, a Toshiba 37x3030DB and an XBOX. From the xbox I have a digital optical cable going in to an optical to coaxial converter. From the TV, I have a stereo output over phono to the 5.1 amp (simply for watching the freeview). When im watching the freeview the sound is perfectly clear. When I have the amp switched to the digital coaxial input there is a lot of digital sounding noise. At first I thought it might be a ground loop issue so I tried a group loop isolator, no change. Does anyone have a clue as to what might be causing this? Can this be caused by the cheap optical to coax converter?
