i everyone, sorry if this seem a stupid subject. but, I'm connecting my DVD player (pioneer dv636d) to my av receiver via digital coaxial. I only need to run it less than 0.5m, but I searched online and some say that less than 1m can cause 'issues' with quality. I don't mind buying the 1m option but didn't want any unnecessary cables on show. I'm looking (low-end to start with) to buy the van damme spdif. thanks in advance - David

It is suggested not to exceed 10m, but there's no minimum length. You'd suffer no deteriation or ill effect by using a shorter than 1m cable.

many thanks for taking the time to respond. just ordered the 0.5m. David
