I have around £100 to spend...I'm looking for advice on the best single digital coaxial cable for my money, its to connect my dvd player to my amp. I was looking at this cable Van den Hul Digital First Classic (phono/single digital cable) its a 0.6m for £85.

If anyone has other ideas please let me know.

    Thanks :)

Would think a £30 - £40 cable from Ixos/QED would be fine, anything over that tends to be overkill IMO. ;)

    yeah ? u think so ?

I have the IXOS 105 1.0M Digital Coaxial (£25) cable at the moment. I was just looking to upgrade it as I'll be upgrading my amp a little later on.

Try a good Chrod Prodac 1m for £70. This is what I used to use at work when installing Arcam fMj DV27's. Usually used the Codac with the Dv88, due to peoples budgets, not a concern in your case (£45 1m).

Don't bother, go for a good meal or something instead, you already have a decent cable.

    Ok, no hassle.

I'll take your advice and sit on it for a while. I was ready to order a cable for a sec there, now after your comments which I appreciate, have taken me back a bit as I thought my current cable wasnt upto much.

    Thanks :)

As Nic says and myself now I know what cable you have, nowt wrong with it, it's well screened and terminated well at both ends. Put your money towards your new amp. ;)

As long as it's a "digital cable", i.e. of 75 Ohm type, you may even choose one which costs GBP5.00 only - or make one yourself.
IMHO there is no difference between digital interconnects, but a normal analog interconnect (50 Ohm) may not sound as good when listening to PCM (CD-Audio).
