    Hello. :)

These days, I'm getting headache installing my 11HT projector.

    I have 3 questions.

    1. Is it all right to use 3 coaxial(75 Ohms) cables designed for digital sound as component video cable??

OR should I order custom made 10~15M component video cable?
If I should order a dedicated component video cable, could you recommend me a good place to order please?

I'm intending to use QED 10M coax cables to connect my SONY 9000ES DVDP to 11HT projector.

    2. I think UNCOL ceiling mount kit is cheaper than SONY branded ceiling mount kit. But you know the distance between the ceiling and the projector(how low the projector has to be mounted from the ceiling.) is it adjustable on UNICOL one?

    3. Could you also recommend me the best place to order the UNCOL and SONY ceiling mount kit?

My questions may sound really basic and stupid. But please forgive me. :)

Any comments, thoughts would be greatly appreciated. :)

    Thanks. :)

Horray. Digital cables are component cables. 75 Ohm. Smack on. 3 QEDs will be great (they also do component QNECT (or similar name) now which look suspiciously like digital cables!;) )

Any good quality 75 Ohm video cable will be fine for component video, just make sure the connectors are also 75 Ohm rated too.

You don't say which Unicol bracket you plan to use. The most popular choice for LCD projectors is probably the Gyrolok bracket. This can get the projector as close as 4" from the ceiling, though you'll need skinny hands to get in the gap and fasten the screws ;)

    Regards

I use the Unicol support. The only problem I found was that if you want to swing a 10ht right back as close to the ceiling then the support keeps moving downward. The only way to get over this is to place one of those small plastic white shelf support blocks that can be bought at a DIY shop, at the pivot end to prevent it moving.
