Hi, my Denon AVR-1802 amp (about 2-3 years old) has stopped receiving a digital signal through it's digital coax input. I use it to handle the digital audio output from my PC soundcard. The amp just sees the signal as analog. I've reset the amp, I've checked the sound card digital output using an MP3 player, that's working OK, I've tried another coax cable from my PC sound card, and I've tried connecting the digital MP3 player output to the amp. The rest of the amp is fine, the other fibre inputs work.

I'm left with the conclusion that the digital coax input is knackered on the amp. But I have 2 spare optical inputs.

I found this "tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/COAX-OPTICAL-CONVERTER.html", I'm interested in any thoughts on using something like this to get around the problem?

    Cheers, Ciaran
