    Just a quickie.

Is it OK to pass a digital camcorder & tapes (mini DV) through an airport X-Ray Scanner.

    TIA

I've taken all manner of videotape masters through airport security many times. The new (eg: less than 10 years old) machines are no trouble at all, but if you have doubts then hand the tapes to a security operator and ask them to bypass the machine. Sometimes they will, though I have been refused this before. In the light of the current scares, you might be refused too.

However, in all the years I've been doing this I've never noticed any harmful effect on recordings - digital or analogue.
