I was seaching for a new tv and came across this in the google price comparison listing for a panasonic th58pz800.

http://www.uk.digitalbuzz.eu-net.shop.tc/product/panasonic-viera-58-plasma-tv-th-58pz800u/

Im certain its a scam.
Its scary how much effort the person has put into it.

Ususally scam sites are obvious because the scammers are lazy by nature, but on this one all the links are good and all the active features work.

He doesnt accept paypal or visa etc though, so its the usual bank transfer rubbish.

I wonder how many get suckered into this?

Unfortunately not everyone is clued up on whois searches and seeking impartial reviews prior to parting with their financial details. If people weren't so stupid the owner and others like him wouldn't go to the effort.

No contact details either and I like the way they offer an extra 1 year extended warranty if you pay via Western Union

Digitalbuzz.net also lives under the name of xtramag.net and has no doubt many other web addresses past and present.

Contact details are identical on all these sites:

Libra Tower 4th Floor
23 Olympion Street
Limassol 3605
Cyprus

WARNING!

When I attempted to purchase from this site via a money transfer (purely as an excersise to see what would happen) I received the following email:

In order for us to do that, and approve your initial order process, please provide us with:
1) a non-expired, unaltered and clear copy of your ID (passport, country ID card, drivers license, etc)
2) a recent phone bill matching the phone number AND address as registered in your profile
Note:
- If a phone bill cannot be provided (ex: prepaid cell phone, or bundled internet service), please submit ANY TWO copies of a recent proof of residency (water bill, electricity bill, gas bill...)
- The scanned documents must be in pdf or jpg format.

They have got to be kidding. If there was ever a more blatant attempt at identity theft then I have yet to come accross it.

Also worth noting that neither site uses a secure connection (HTTPS) when requesting registration or bank details.

Avoid any site that looks similar or is linked to the same address.

I stumbled across the XtraMag website a few days ago, to be fair the site is very well made for a bogus site! they normally don't have this much effort gone in them

It took me a while to find some reviews on the site too, wasn't much around at that time.

I think it's a bit unfair to call people who fall for such scams "stupid", as not everyone is in the know-how of everything! Not knowing is not the same as stupidity.
