This may be a really stupid question but if someone could please help.

I live on an island where digital signal is still a few years off, so if i buy a new TV with a built-in digital tuner can this still pickup the old analogue signal as well or just the digital one?

As far as I know all TVs with a built in digital tuner still have an analogue tuner as well. Until 'switch off' for some parts of the country they are stuck with analogue so the analogue tuner is still needed.

There are some LCD/Plasma sets on the market now with digital only (no analogue coverage) tuners.
