So where are the digital amplifiers, supposed to the the holy grail of soundreproduction with no distortion, immense dynamics and best sound by lowest power consumption?

Or have I been mislead by the No.1 Hifi Magazin in the world? 35 out of 5 stars!?

I know how it works, but where are they?
Why are they not available yet, the first products (e.g. TACT Millenium) were shown already quite some time ago!?

Yeah, Sharp is correct. They've just updated their original digital amp, and have a new one out, with a matching SACD player (complete with their own standard of digital connection for it). Apparently it sounds rather fine.

In the last issue of HCC, they featured a Sony prototype digital amplifier, about the size of a shoebox that could drive a pair of B & W monitors. That's impressive.

I can't remember though who produced the original digital amp. It certainly wasn't a household name, but What Hi-Fi absolutely loved it.

    See ya,

It's in my post above, the make was TACT and the model Millenium. WHF loved it as you said (35 out of 5 stars) but Hifi-Choice (I think it was) was a bit more critical and by that more believable.
Was just hoping they would become more common nowadays as they could be very benefitial for AV systems.
