I have a cable (Xitel's Hi-Fi link) from my PC that connects to my current 2 speaker stereo AUX socket so that all sound from the computer comes out my stereos speakers. This consequently bipases by computers soundcard as it is quite poor.

However, I wish to upgrade to some kind of dolby digial 5.1 system, am I right in thinking that buying a digital amp with an AUX socket along with the required speakers and sub will do the trick? This is because I'm not interested in buying a DVD player etc so just want the speakers to work with my PC and mayb a tuner.

    Thanks

Panasonic digital receivers are very popular in the USA, they use TI´s engine, same as Tact, and have digital inputs wich apparently work better than analog...

Last but not least, they are not expensive...
