Hello there, new to these forums but I am jumping straight in with a plea for help. I have very little idea when it comes to technology and have just bought a lovely new digital TV for downstairs. We can occasionally get a very good reception on E4 and a couple of other channels (mainly news channels) but we can't get all the Freeview channels, I have a good idea that we probably need a new aerial but havn't a clue what. Our present aerial is in the loft, can we have a digital aerial installed in the loft or will it have to go outside? And can anybody tell me exactly what we need in an aerial? We manage to get most digital freeview channels on our upstairs Freeview box run on an ordinary little indoor aerial.Thank you.

What you need depends on where you are, distance from the transmitter, etc. There is no such thing as a digital aerial, all you need is a GOOD aerial.

I have a high gain wide band aerial in my loft pointing at Sandy Heath about 16 miles away. I get excellent reception on all channels.

    Hi
Although Phantom Phixer has a loft aerial with no problems I would generaly advise against a loft aerial unless you have no alternative.

 Wide band Aerial, thats the one. Thank you very much for the advice. I think we are a good few miles from the nearest transmitter which is at Bilsdale so perhaps we best go for the outside option.
