I keep getting £3.99 taken from my credit card by digi bill mail kirkcaldy.

No one is watching any box office movies as I have disconnected the phone line for the digibox.

Is this happening to anyone else, and/or can anyone give me a contact number for these people?

I recall reading something similar, not sure if it was in this forum but a quick search brings up this thread.

Personally, I'd close that credit card account immediately so they can't take any more - I'd phone and write to the credit card firm and tell them I had cut up the card(s).

But, of course, I've had the benefit of having read THIS THREAD in another forum.

    To All,

After doing a little searching after getting a £12 charge on my credit card from the company digi bill mail in kirkcaldy I have found the following information:

Digi bill is the trading name for red hot pay per view (PPV) television on sky (there website is www.redhottv.co.uk) i.e. this is the name that will appear on any credit/debit card statement for any purchase you make to get a nightly viewing of the redhot channels!

When you sign up for these channels it will ask you for either a credit or debit card that you wish all your payments to be made to, you can't proceed with the order process unless you give them these details!

they charge you a one off non refundable charge of £12 (which looks like the charge I have!) and are then suppose to send you out a welcome pack to thank you for joining with them and giving you money off coupons for adult magazine I can only assume they have a partnership with (something that they obviously don't do as I have never received a welcome pack as they describe it on their website from them and from the sounds of things many others that have this problem haven’t either!)

they then charge your chosen card £4.49 for every nights viewing that you 'buy' from them which supposedly then allows you to watch any of the following 8 sky channel numbers for that price during that nightly viewing period the channel numbers are (I have regular sky digital so the channel numbers are probably different for sky+ and other digital subscriptions) 976, 977, 978, 979, 980, 981, 982 and 983.

Now there are three ways in which there site advertises that you can join this service either by phoning their hotline phone number, by using their automated ordering system on sky itself or by ordering the subscription on-line through there website.

Now in there terms and conditions (this is where I’ve got most of this information from) you can cancel this subscription by writing to the P.O. Box address given to you in your welcome pack??????(Convenient that isn’t it!!!)

Seeing as though most of you don't remember subscribing to this service (myself included) and have also never received any paperwork from redhot the only thing I can suggest as some others already have is to phone your credit/debit card company and ask for the business address and phone number for this company and see where that leads you, either that or phone the subscriptions line 0871 271 45 54 (for sky customers), 0800 052 2000 (for ntl customers) or 0800 953 5383 (for telewest customers).

another thing that might be useful to some of you is contacting sky and asking to change your PIN number (or use the change pin service in the services section of the main sky menu on your TV) as when you 'purchase' a nightly viewing all you have to do is enter your pin and because you are 'subscribed' they assume they can charge the card number that 'you have given them' with the amount for that viewing period! Changing your pin would stop anyone else in your household from viewing these channels without your express permission (I’m talking worst case scenario here where a flatmate/logger/sibling etc has used your card in order to subscribe to these channels and not told you about it and hoped you'd never find out!!!!)

Another thing I would recommend is asking yourself where you at home on the dates that they are billing you for (i think one person i read about was charged £50 which would equate to 10 viewing of the channels a month!) because if you weren’t then at least you know for definite that your not going mad and more improtantly it wasen't yourself that has been ordering these channels and not relising that digibill is redhot on you statments! I would also suggest keeping I record of all PPV programs that you defiantly order ADD did in fact watch as well as this will help you work things out, for not only adult PPV's but also for regular PPV events as well and see if any patterns emerge for the time of viewing (i.e. always on a Saturday night when your normally out down the local pub and don’t come in till late) and also will help you find and discrepancies within you normal sky bill as well

I hope this helps shed some light on this little mystery and I wish all those concerned a speedy conclusion to this problem!

Yes, I signed up for a bit of Red Hot action but it is a bit of scam. I received a letter soon after signing up saying that they had jacked up the prices (annual fee suddenly £191.88) on top of the nightly/per show rate.
I have 2 addresses if anyone wants to try and contact the company:

    digi-bill
    po box 69 (subtle)
    kirkcaldy
    fife ky2 6wu
    phone: 0871 271 84 84

RHF Productions Limited (the money hoover)
    Suite 14
    Burlington House
    St Saviour's Road
    St Helier
    Jersey JE2 4LA
    Registered in Jersey number 77483

I have to wait until January 2008 to cancel my annual rebill (gutted), but I'll probably "lose" my credit card before then...

    Anyone else had this happen?

Digi bill is the name used on your bankstatements when you watch red hot channels, ive been reading these blogs and find it ridiculous that you dont just phone the company and ask them! you only EVER get charged from Digibill when you've actually watched the channels, if you phone them they can tell you exactly the time and date the channels were watched and even what film you watched!!!

There also seems to be some misunderstandings over the prices on this forum so i'll clarify! its either pay per night OR monthly you dont get charged for the month then pay extra like some guy above seems to think.

I've been a customer with these channels for a number of years and have only ever had to call them when ive changed my credit card over! they've always been polite and helpful and always been able to answer any queries ive had on my account! i used to use ppv then moved to the monthly one, which for some of you may be better value if your watching so much porn you run up a huge bill.

And as for people saying its not been them or its been fraud, once again phone them. they can tell you the sky equipment its been done on! cos they always ask for my viewing card number when i call to find my account.

The £12 charge is to send the signals its a start up fee, its the same when you subscribe to setanta or any of the other extra channels. so stop whinging!

And finally if you still claim its not you then be a responsible home owner and use the parental controls to remove the adult channels its as simple as that and dont leave your credit card details lying around.

I like this company, they provide a service at a reasonable cost. i dont like to see people slandering them for no reason than there own ignorance of whats going on in their household.

Now are you sure that you really did opt for a subscription? I called to get access for ONE night - there were no other charges mentioned on the call and the website only mentions charges for membership but they did not state on the phonecall that you would become a member by requesting a one night only pin so additional charges would not be justifiable and yet I was charged £19.99 for one nights viewing! ( Showing on bank statement as Top up TV Hampton -and no I was not drunk and VERY careful to make sure I did not agree to a subscription OR additional charges). I have sent a letter to the PO box address in kirkcaldy stating my case and the bank has cancelled my card - I have to wait 30 DAYS for them to respond to my letter then the bank will reimburse me and pass red hot tv's details to the FSA. After this I will contact the trading standards who have the power to close the company down if this is common practice (which means anyone with a complaint about this company NEEDS to speak to trading standards to prove these are not one off incidences/mistakes but are the companys mode of operation). If you research these porn channels you will find that they are owned by the guy who runs the express newspaper and they have been fined before by ofcom so they have a history of breaking the rules (and thats putting it mildly!). Even if you SIGNED a contract - if you can be proved to not have been in your right mind at the time of doing it(drunk even)- a contract can be annulled!! If the contract has unfair terms you can get it annulled -if they claim membership costs have risen then contest the fact that they still advertise membership at £9.99 a month to this day!! certainly its worth at least contacting trading standards for them to investigate - they would have to provide proof you signed up for a monthly subscription whilst in your right mind and I have suspicions that they count on people not being able to remember cos most people will be drunk whilst subscribing!

Richard Desmond buys TV channel Five - Telegraph This is the guy who owns the porn channels - the express and the star newspapers and has bought channel five TV. I suggest you warn people on facebook etc about this guys operations!

Television X and Wescot debt collection agency.. Check out this link to details of how you can still dispute contract even if details are given over the phone - fees mmust be detailed in the ADVERT!!

You've resurrected a thread more than six years old to post all this rubbish? When every single forum member who was complaining about being charged these fees is now an ex-member anyway? Did you join this forum purely to reply to six year old threads? What are you hoping to achieve?
