Well... looks like i am going to have to dig a bit deeper...!

I was originally going to buy a Panasonic PX60 and wall mount it in a specially built alcove in our lounge....

But having been to a few high street retailers i felt it didn't compare to a Pioneer436XDE... visually as well as PQ...

Last night though went to a specialist retailer that designs and fits new systems... and looks like my original budget had now stretched from £2200(£1800 for PX60 + £400 for Denon home cinema) to £4500!

After seeing how the Pioneer performed with high quality separates and cables plus the tiny Bose surround sound speaker i have been seduced! I was totally blown away by how good it was... That £4.5k price includes them 2 stage fitting everything. First fix of all wiring then coming back after the decorators and builders have finished to mount and calibrate everything...

I know its costing more but i am that little bit more relaxed about it all now knowig that its all been specced and fitted by professionals.... (+ i saved about £3k on all tha carpets for the house! can always find an excuse!)

What do you think guys - i know it sounds like a lot of cash but it should be a great set up!?!?

Might be worth comparing the Bose speakers to something else at the same price point, you can probably get a lot more sound quality for the same/less money. Just a suggestion though, I'm sure you're going to love the new setup. I'm just in the final stages of speccing/ordering my new AV equipment, can't wait for it all to arrive!

I had a demo with both screens (panasonic and poineer) Maybe you're right about PQ but i'm not sure... to be honest couldn't see a great deal between them... For me the sheer look and feel were enough to put the Pioneer ahead... The Panasonic didn't look as though it was worth its price tag whereas the Pioneer looked good value even though its a few hundred quid more...

    RE Speakers
I was also shown several other speaker set-ups that were cheaper and possibly better!?! but i reaaly want a discreet look rather than large speaker units everywhere... considering the size of the Bose speakers i was very impressed with the performance....

    Can't wait for the install!

How much is the Bose speaker setup and the bose unit costing you?

You WILL definately get a better setup for 75-90% of the cost of them I can gurantee that. BUT you want them to be discreet and it is your £££.

Just get what is best for your preferences :). I like more mid range and punch to my sound setup.

yep bose are so over priced its scary.... how about in the small sector :

Anthony Gallo Micro and Diva Speakers ?
    Mission Mcubes
    Kef Eggs
Tannoy (whopps the name escapes me !)
B&W have about 3 ranges of small speakers plus the ball subs :)

All of the above would leave bose for dead.. just add a amp and sub of your choice. I would get the firm to breakdown your cost so you can see how much the bose is costing in comparision to the rest of the install...
