Hi folks,

I have a matrix switch connecting sources to three different rooms currently. Everything's working fine and the sound is all just 2.0 channel stereo at the moment.

I'm hoping to add a 7.1 soundbar to the lounge soon, so know this'll introduce some problems... If I want to have different audio in different rooms (I'm not going to get a 7.1 soundbar in every room!) is this the sort of product that I need?

HDMI Scalers

Also would it be as simple as connecting these up, or am I missing something in having different audio capabilities in the different rooms?

cheers

You will require 1 x HDMI Audio down converter in Zones 2 & 3.

Simple - once you plug them in you can judge if it was a 'smooth' solution or not!

Soundbar - it may be worth exploring an HDMI equipped/HD Audio capable Soundbar in Zones 2 & 3, some of them are pretty low cost (though best set to stereo mode :)).
