Now the £10/month fee has gone, I'll be getting sky+

Is there any difference between the boxes available? I see from other threads that a V2 is best, but are the boxes from different manufacturers the same quality?

    Thanks

So far the only Sky + boxes on the market are the two Paces. V2 is smaller than the v1 (and IMO looks better, but this is up for debate). Other than cosmetics, the box's operation and functionality is exactly the same. V1 owners are on a slightly newer software version, but I don't know what the differences are - presumably nothing much, and once the dual record update is released I expect they will be the same version on both boxes.

Other manufacturers have Sky+ boxes in the works (Amstrad I think), but I doubt they'll be out for a while yet.

If you order now from Sky you'll get a v2 Pace box, which occasionally has the usual Sky+ bugs, but in general works great.

    Cheers
