But TH-42PW7B is silver as is the TH-42PWD7BS - whats the difference here (apart fron £100)?

I would have called AV-Sales today to ask about comparisons (thats where I have seen both advertised), but Im currently working nights. I have searched these forums, but doing a search on PW7 returns too many results. Even pannys site doenst have both listed.

Please help, looking to make my purchase tomorrow!

    Panasonic TH-42PW7B
    £1997.50
NO idea (silver with tuner box???)

    Panasonic TH-42PWD7BS
    £1845.00
    SILVER

    Panasonic TH-42PWD7BK
    £1845.00
    BLACK

AV-sales site seems to be a tad out of date.......... order via phone to make sure you get the right colour at the right price....

I read somewhere that only the PWD7 has the new 'upgraded' features available in the US/JP versions of the 7 series (new pixel structure, extended gray scale etc..)

The PW7 retains much of the same technonlogy of the PW6.

I may well be wrong about this so feel free to prove me wrong.

Deal signed and sealed for delivery on Monday...
Turns out the difference is that the PWD can display a greater number of colours but was advised that this can lead to un-natural looking images.

42PW7B, scart card, S-video card, wall mount and delivery for £1860 - Pretty happy with that.
Hopefully a lot better than the Philips that I have just returned.....

Unlikely ! They both have exactly the same image spec!

TH-42PW7B sold by Consumer Division of Panasonic in Silver only
TH-42PWD7BS sold by Business Division of Panasonic in Silver
TH-42PWD7BK sold by Business Division of Panasonic in Charcoal

I believe the Business Division models have:

    1. More user menu options for setting up the image
    2. Twin digitisers, so that using the Twin source feature (PiP, P&P, PoutP) is less restricted in what sources you can mix on screen.
    3. Probably a nore efficient manufacturers warranty procedure should things go wrong in the first 12 Months.

I've had the TH-42PWD7BS for two days - PQ is excellent through the SCART and Component inputs.

Less impressed with the Plasmas internal audio sub-system - I'm trying to use plasmas speaker outputs to drive an Acoustic Energy AEGO 2 Active Speaker System via the Acoustic Energy supplied high to low level adapter and I'm getting lots of buzzing on the audio.

Even hooking up the AEGO satellite speakers direct to the Plasma still gives me (lower level) buzzing

I guess I'll have to use proper external audio amplification

    Gussie :)

Ordered mine this afternoon from AV-Sales - 42PW7B, Component BNC board, Wallmount, Van Damme 3RCA-3BNC component lead, 2 optical, sub interconnect for £1880. Not too bad, eh? Delivery Tuesday. Will be connecting this to Yam750 amp and Canton CD1 speakers.

I'm just going on the information that the poor sales guy at AV-Sales gave me after 15mins of gruelling interrogation.....

Whatever way, I'm sure it's going to be a hell of an improvement on the plasma that I dumped back to the supplier on Friday.

    Cheers....
