What is the difference between the Panasonic PV500 and the PHD8 ?
I dont know what is the difference between a PV500 and the PHD8?
Oh sorry this isnt a joke?!
Ones a telly the others a panel no one i know has actually seen a PHD8 so no one i know can comment on it's picture quality yet.
I would comment that a PHD7 is better than a PV500 though....imho....but they are aimed at different markets as has been mentioned. Ones a tv and ones a display.
So you would need a scaler for the PHD8?
No the PHD8 needs you to choose the input boards you want. You also need an external tv tuner of some description as it's not bult in as standard like on Viera. It also doesn't come with speakers like the TV Viera will.
The video processing in the PHD7 appears better than that of a PV500. Having said that adding a video processor/scaler to a PHD7 brings significant improvements, imho. The PV500 would probably benefit even more!
ahh ok, thanks for your answers!
And when is the PHD8 due for release?
On AV Sale's web site it says about the 50"
"Limited stock available September/October"
and if you want one to "Please call to pre-prder"
I dont know about the 42"
Gordon - which scaler would you recommend for general SKY viewing on the PV500 (and maybe some computer (Mac) connection as well)? I find the choice somewhat confusing... Would it connect best through the VGA port?
