the 'X' on the end of a model number signifies that the RCA board has been removed.

...and EX on the end indicates an EU screen without the RCA board.

One of them has a Silver bezel (TH-42PW5B) and the other one has a Charcoal bezel (TH-42PWD5BX)

There are some minor technical differences but they have been covered many times on these forums.

The BX suffix on the Charcoal model indicates that B - its a UK spec display with a UK warranty and X - that the video card slot is empty and you or your dealer will need to order and fit a video card.

I would avoid any on-line or in store model numbering on the Silvers displays as a guide as to what you may be purchasing - these models arrive in the UK in two or three different configurations all with the same model number; I'd always confirm with your retailer what your actually going to receive.

    Best regards

    Joe
