    Hi Everyone,

Anyone know the difference between MS309 and MS907W subwoofers in regard to performance? Which is a better match for the Avant 5.1 (MS906 fronts). Tons of Fun, how about it?

Hi, I also have 906 fronts. Between the 309 and the 907, I would definately go for the award winner 309. Loads of people on the forum have one, and they are meant to be excellent. It is more powerful than the 907.

The 907 is an older design with a 100W analogue amplifer and a doped paper cone drive unit - it is basically a reworked old Mordaunt Short MSW20.

The 309 has a 150watt class D digital amplifier and the MS aluminium CPC drive unit and also benefits from the Notch Filter for reducing "room boom"!

While there's nothing wrong at all with the 907, the 309 is definitely an improvement over it, and will match better with your Avants.

    Adam.
