Forget what it was called . something along the lines of " what the politicians dont tell you." Just wondered what you guys thought? The prog wheeled out a load of experts and let them give their opinions on important matters such as pensions, environment ,education, health, drug use, prisons, divorce , kids etc.
Some of the views were controversial to say the least - eg a retired policeman advocates full legalisation of recreational drugs An ex prison governer advocates that prisons are useless and the only people who should be kept in them are murderers paedoiphiles violent criminals and rapists. The rest should face tagging community service fiines and psychiatric treatmant. A teacher advocates summer schools, another outdoor learning experiences. One expert thinks we should be paying far more for our petrol and therefore use the car less Another says we should be saving FAR more than we do- the pension crisis facing us is of enormouis proportions. As far as health goes we should be paying more and into social insurance.Divorce should be made more difficult . Kids suffering in a dysfunctional household should be spotted and helped straight away.
Found myself agreeing with most of it.

    Another thing I forgot :
Plastic packaging there is too much of it. We are having to export waste to China. This is insane.

One bugbear of mine- electrical appliances that dont last. They a have a built in lifespam of 10 years which means more CO2 emissions in manufacture and more dumping problems.Fridge mountains etc.

I recorded it this morning and have watched the first 30 minutes or so and found it quite interesting. Mind you, it's fine for people to bang on about having you own solar panels to generate electricity, but the last time I checked it out it would have cost about £9000 to do my small bungalow - and that included a massive rebate for using one of the recommended suppliers.
