I am forever forgetting what's called what in cable terms (phono, banana, toslink, composite etc etc) and was wondering if there was a good picture dictionary anywhere? With the cable in my hand I know exactly what it does and where it goes, I just forget the names every 3 minutes!

Just pop into your local Maplins store (www.maplin.co.uk will give you a store locator) and pick up a copy of their catalogue, it will cost you £3.50 but has all the pictures of all the components used in all installations. Or pay a visit to www.keene.co.uk and order their free catalogue, not as comprehensive as the maplin one but still has pictures of most of the cable and connectors used in AV and TV/video installations
