I've noticed over the last week that Diagonal lines are appearing far more jagged than I remember them on my screen.

Specifically thin objects on the diagonal plane, such as spectacle frames, Buzz Lightyear's helmet, Sulley's fur and even the text of Movie credits.

Sadly, none of the THX optimode screens display diagonal lines, just vertical and horizontal cross hatching, so i can't spin up a useful testcard.

I've not messed around in the Service menu and it does seem more pronounced on my NTSC DVD's, but it occurs on digital terestrial as well.

Anyone ever encountered this problem before?

I'm certain it's worse and not simply my eyes noticing imperfections that have always been there.

My TV is still under warranty and if anyone thinks this may be a fault, I can get an engineer to look at it.

    Any advise greatfully received.

Are you certain you haven't changed anything - eg:

Any output settings on the DVD player
Any settings on the TV - eg the DRC-MF?

Even if YOU haven't chjanged it, I'd guess at the DRC-MF setting - so try experimenting with different options and see if any of them improve matters for you.

Have you got the sharpness on?

If so try lowering the setting.
My FX66 shows diagonals as jagged when the sharpness is high - an unfortunate effect of altering the orginal signal. :(

I've tried all three modes of DRC and tinkered with the Sharpeness setting, but to no avail.

It is at its worst when a diagonal line is backlit.

I guess this is because it produces a black pixel (or dark pixel) next to a white one and it's the line of white pixels which look jagged.

    Thanks for your suggestions.
