DGM Backlight. Fixable?

My DGM LTV1961WCR's backlight failed with a burning smell and, opening it up I noticed that part C15, a circular capacitor I think, had melted.

Is it worth trying to replace? Has some other problem caused the failure, or was it just a bad capacitor?

Any help would be appreciated.

The cap has probably just failed and if you can read it's value and source a replacement it's worth a go at replacing it.
“DGM” brand?
I've never come across it...where are you based? Which country?

Digitmate/DGM had a few years of of popularity in the UK around a decade ago, particularly for barebones computer monitors.

And I probably repaired a few of their monitors around that time but I've never heard of it abbreviated to DGM.

I replaced the inverter board, which had a melted capacitor, but the new one has also failed. Looks like the end.
