    Hi

I need to sort out the geometry in my Toshiba RPTV, as the test grids arn't exactly straight verically or horizontally.

How can I adjust each section of the screen to straighten the lines out?

I have managed to almost do a perfect convergence with the 60 point.

Also the blue is out of foucs on the lower half of the screen- how do I only adjust the lower half focus?

    Thanks
    Nathan

    Try adjusting the overall focus.

You should be able to acheive it where the focus is only slightly out top and bottom and is spot on in the middle.

Might be a lot less noticable that how it is now?

Or alternaticely get a service manual for the set.

    Thanks for replying.

I adjusted the blue focus pot last week- it does not bring the lower blue into focus- the bottom just gets worse.

I've downloaded a SM for another model- it's not exactly helpful - ie, "If it's got this problem- this is how you fix it"

It says you cannot adjust the CRT angle (by loosening the 4 screws)- coolant will leak.

How else can I adjust the CRT angle?- by adjusting the angle, I should be able to bring the whole screen in focus.

    Thanks
    Nathan

If adjusting the CRT angle is the only way to do it then it sounds like its a case of adjust it and have a bottle of whatever they use for cooling to hand and refilling the cooling systems up.

I.e. a back to factory job. How old is the set?

Brand new- however the blue is only slightly out- therefore Toshiba will say it's under normal tolerences.

And the engineer might charge for callout-since it's only a minor fault. I don't want to send it back-it might come back worse!

Just noticed- if I adjust the green CRT grid- I can sort out the geometry (it's was slightly out in a couple of places), before and after..

    Thanks
    Nathan
