    Has anybody got the Depeche Mode - Remixes 81-04 (2CD)? i am considering buying it mainly for the Enjoy the silence remix - heard it on MTV over the weekend and it is just amazing! I like Depeche mode music but haven't any albums of theirs. I have seen it for 8.99 (2cd) so its not alot of money. What do people think???

    Love Depeche Mode. The remixes are a bit hit and miss, but overall it's a great package. NOTE:: There are 2 versions of Enjoy the silence, one on 2nd CD (Timo Maas) and one on the 3rd CD (This is the single). You can buy 1CD / 2CD and 3CD (very limited) versions. So if you want that track you'll have to get hold of the 3CD version. It was 16.99 HMV or 10.99 from iTunes (Download).
    Hope this was of help.

    Off topic, but I bought the SACD version of 101 and it's very good. Didn't realise that it was a live album though. :blush:

    Back to the remixes...I went for the 3 CD package off CD-Wow - http://www9.cd-wow.com/detail_results.php?product_code=13715. I think it's an excellent package but I have been a fan for a long time. I am also a fan of electronic music in general and have often preferred DM's remixes to the album versions throughout the years. That's why I bought the CDs - although I had many of the mixes already. Highlights, for me, include the Kruder & Dorfmeister remix of "Useless" and Jon Marsh (Beloved) mix of World in My Eyes...there are many more though. IMO a couple of the mixes have not aged so well - the Adrian Sherwood ones of Master and Servant and People are People. Also - would have liked to see included the Deep Dish mix of FreeLove and the KLF mix of Policy Of Truth...but there is now such a great back catalogue that I guess everybody will have their favourites.

    I was not as impressed as you, but I'm listening to it in 2-channel and probably missing out on the full impact of 20,000 screaming fans!!

    Been a big Mode fan since 81 as for buying your first album by them I would have to recommend the Singles 86>98 as an introduction to Depeche.

    Other albums would be;
    Violator,Black Celebration,Music for the Masses,Songs of Faith and Devotion and Exciter.
