Hello
Just replaced Nakamichi AV1 processor with Denon 4500.
When i switch on SVS PB12-PLUS/2 subwoofer Denon cuts out sound with crackling sound.
This does not happen all the time.
To get the sound back either i have to change channel or switch off / on receiver then everything is fine.
Checked all wiring / cables also used the SUB 2 connection on receiver with same problem.
Is it a faulty receiver ?
Your help to solve this issue will be much appreciated.

Does it still happen if the Sub input is totally disconnected from the AVR?

I’m wondering if the sub causes a slight mains dip at power on.

Thanks for your reply
No even when cable is connected and the sub is switched off there no problem
Only when sub is switched on

First thing I would do is change your cable. If you have a spare RCA laying around try that for a connection. Maybe something as simple as a poor RCA terminal on the current cable.

So even if there is no rca connection lead between Sub and AVR can it still happen when sub is powered on?

No it's fine when cable is disconnected and sub is switched on

Thanks gibbsy
It's a 10 m cable I'll have to order one
Have short cable but Sub's too heavy to move

Replaced the cable with brand new one but problem still exists
