Denon SD500 sound popping..

    When watching dvds, every so often the sound briefly skips. It happens on some dvds but not all and doesnt at all when watching TV through it. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers.

    apolagies for starting a new thread (above) with what appears to be same issue. Your problem sounds very similar to mine. I get an annoying crackling when watching DVD's, other source are fine. Its annoying the hell out of me. Seems generally worse when watching a rental DVD i must admit.

    anybody else experience this :confused:

    Check your discs, have they got marks on scratches on them?

    that would make sense as it seems worse when watching a rental dvds, and are in terrible condition. I will do a comparison

    Are you running it through a separate amp?
