    Hi there

im very much a newbie as this is my first ever post. i was looking for a piece of advice regarding a denon amp i have.

    Detail

    Denon Amp AVC 1530

ive recently moved house and ive just unpacked my amp to get it going again, where upon i've found it goes into "protect" mode and switches off/mute. this is the first time ive encountered this problem after 10 years of owning it.

can anyone enlighten me as to how to re set the amp to default as i can hear music for about 3/4 seconds before it outs out?

there must be something im missing and was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction.

    Thanks for any help
    Much appreciated

I have the Denon 1906 and had a similar problem so hope this helps.

I had recently decorated and so had the speaker wires disconnected for a while and then reconnected them all from the amp to my KEFs. The amp then kept cutting off completely - the red standby button flashed on and off - maybe this is the same as yours?

Anyway, I checked the whole length of EVERY speaker wire and found the smallest of small nicks exposing the cable - somehow this was causing the amp to turn itself off.

I replaced the speaker wire and hey presto, no problems since!

As you said you have moved house, check connections / speaker wire / plugs etc for any imperfections and you could find the answer.

    Good luck!!

Good luck. Patience is the key - it took me ages but was worth the time as I was just about to start contacting dealers / repairers etc.
