I see Denon has got approval to carry SACD through Denon Link. See here.
Better late than never I guess.
Let's hope the firmware works
Thanks for posting that Bruce
Do you think that Denon will provide an upgrade for current models, or will they force us into buying new machinery??
Just as SACD sinks slowly in the west?
Shock horror. Never thought it would happen personally. Glad it's been confirmed though.
It's true, they're a bit late on the bandwagon.
Any ideas as to how SACD will sound different compared to i-link?
Im surprised too since Sony vowed never to allow SACD to be passes through a digital cable for fear of copying!
Still too little too late.
Im pretty sure Sony said they would disscontinue SACD in order to focus on Blu Ray.
We may even see Blu Ray music disks.
It struck me as a sign of desperation from Sony .. much like their finally accepting that their portable music devices were doomed to oblivion while they insisted on using their own proprietary format instead of MP3.
True. Although their new players like the HDD players and even the PSP accept MP3 files now.
How long till Sony bring out SACD 2.0 (current 1.3)?
Denon will only get SACD approval or be able to use SACD down Denon Link once this is ot or finalized.
