Denon UK now have a site where the latest firmware is available for their more popular models.

You will find everything you need here.

Hi all!

Whenever i enter my details on this site for my CHR-F103 i am told that they cannot identify it...anyone else having problems with the site or this model on the site? I'm assuming that the CHR-F103 serial nbr. is identified by the 'No.' field at the bottom left corner on the rear of the unit.
Could it be that there is no firmware update for this model?

Thanks in advance.
MM

I've the same problem with my Denon DVD-3910. Always get:

"Unfortunatelly we could not identify your product
Please re-check type of model, colour and serial number!
If you have filled in all data correctly, please contact your retailer who has sold you the DENON product, in order to update the software."

I would advise you to confirm your machines are proper European models and not grey imports. If they are indeed grey imports Denon EU are under no obligation to support them. If you think you do have European models then you need to contact Denon.

I have just had the same problem with my DVD-3910. Is this a real DENON site??

The site is real. What makes you doubt its authenticity?

Only the fact that so many people find that their serial no. is rejected.

I had this problem on my old 2910 and went back to my Denon dealer i got the player off (he's even listed on Denon's own website as a dealer) and mentioned this link for updates
He asked his Denon rep about it, who came back and said it was a beta test site only and did not have all the serials of devices sold on it, only some for testing purposes.
He said as and when an 'offical' UK Denon link was necessary after the german site was tested, it would be widely announced. He also said that any updates can be had from dealers directly.
Hope this helps

Cannot seem to find it on the German site either.

I wonder why Denon make it so difficult to obtain firmware releases for their items.

For every other upgradeable item I own with other companies it just takes a few mins on their website to get any firmware I may need.

What is so special about Denons. Its not like the f/w is any use to anyone who does not own the items anyway.

I have spent good and large money on an amp and high end dvd player from them and you would have thought that as they are a high end provider, having a small area on their websites to just grab some updates would not be too much to ask for.

Mumble grumble

(and I do understand that the link at the start of this topic supposedly enables us to get the firmware, but quite clearly this is a hit and miss affair and not in the least bit satisfactory)

Phew...now thats off my chest I can get on with my day :)

I think you will find the UK site is a mirror of the German and French sites and the trialing is all being done at the same time so no one will be better than the other until the sites go fully live. Is the 4306 a user upgradeable item anyway? Rather than just pushing a sequence of buttons and sticking a CD in the drive like my DVD 2900/3910 does the 4306 not require additional hardware and some specialist knowledge?

You need a PC and network cable to update the 4306.

Hi All,

Do you need to download the file on a computer and transfer to disk. If I have setup my Network setting on the 4308 correctly can I do the firmware update directly over the Internet even though I am in Singapore.

It seems as though Denon Singapore expect you to take the AV Receiver to them to update. I really wish to update over the internet and not have to disconnect everything.

Plesae advise.

What's the latest version for denon 4306?. Can someone send it to me I have australia version PAL 230V (Black model).

Thanks heaps

[email protected]

There is an URL for Europe and it requires a valid (European) serial number. There is hopefully one for your region, too. I suggest to ask your dealer.

New update available for the 4308 (14 updates)

I assume its similar for the 3808

Although you might want to avoid it for a few days, my wifi is dead now :/

Edit! WiFi is fixed!, had to do a cpu reset though, a pain entering the wpa key one char at a time again but its working now :)

For Those not able to get the AVR-4306 Firmware here it is.

http://rapidshare.com/files/94946811/AVR-4306_Update_6_0_0_2_with_manuals.zip

Also noted there's a bug insite the latest firmware 6_0_0_2.

If you true PC control try to program the Tuner Preset List A to G lots of FM freqency's are not there.

Denon Japan is working on it right now as i speak.

For that time i made a tool for it for program your tuner preset list.
