    Anyone know if it's possible to pass a Sky signal to the RGB (in) scart socket on the Denon 3800 and for the output signal to come from the Component RGB, to hook up to plasma.

    I've been fiddling around with it, but can't seem to get it to work!? There could be a very good reason why...it's impossible!

    Any feedback greatfully received from esteemed members.

    Cheers

    From What I can remember the scart on the 3800 is RGB output only ;)
    The other option is to use a rgb to vga converter then you could use the vga input on your plasma

    Or you could use a rgb to component converter connected
    to your amp and use the component switching

    No chance. RGB and component are very different beasts and will take a huge amount of effort to convert, certainly not just a pass-through job I'm afraid.

    YUV is derived from RGB by the following equations:

    Y = 0.3 R + 0.59 G + 0.11 B

    U = 0.49 ( B - Y )

    V = 0.87 ( R - Y )

    Perhaps not lots of effort, but more than is worth putting into a source with a £100 price hike. :)
