Yes, you heard it here first. £499 for DVD2900 at www.superfi.co.uk on their 7 day special promotion. So you only have 7 days, or probably less if they run out of stock.

To be honest, I am tempted, as my sony 725 is 5 years old this Xmas, and is due for an upgrade. But there is a hell of a lot of competition out there, from Arcam especially, as well as the new Denon players coming out.

I have a few days to think about it.

I paid £558 for one in July and every time I use it makes me smile.

    Worth every penny.

Paid similar price to Radiohead. Well worth it.

I upgraded from a 5 year old player aswell. Can really notice the difference. Much better sound and picture.

I ordered one from here on Friday and it arrived yesterday (Monday) morning.

A quick question for those of you who have one of these: Does it remember where you stop watching a movie? (a resume feature)

I can't see it in the manual and it doesn't do it automatically.

I've not used them for mail order, but have been into their shop in Sheffield a few times, they're always really helpfull, even if you're just in for a nosey.

The Sheffield branch was closing down as the lease was coming to an end. Not sure if it's closed yet as I've not been since the end of November, but I would suspect so as they were doing some great deals. I went in for a 2900 but they were out of stock so I ended up with a 3910 for not a lot more.

Ok I heard from Paul this mornin, very prompt! Here is the reply:

Yes, we have bought all of Denon's remaining DVD 2900 stock. These
units are all brand new sealed boxes, with full UK warranty, in black
only. They can be made multi region, we would have to open the box of
course, at no extra cost. The price is the lowest, we believe, on the
    net at £425.00GBP.
Please call the shop for further information.

    All the best
and thank you for your interest

What a nice chap, anyhow do you think this is still worth it?
i was considering a Arcam dv89 from creative.
