I've got a DENON DVD-557 Player. It can play only region one DVDs. Is it possible to make it play region 2 DVD's? If so can anyone explain the process?

I read somehwere that the dvd-557 is identical to to the dvd-1730. if so, the code here: http://www.multi-region.net/denon_dvd-1730 should do it.

Can anyone confirm this?

I emailed Denon USA and this was their reply:

That is true, they are essentially the same product.​

I guess this emans that I can load the multiregion firmware for th2 1730 on my Denon DVD-557.
