I have a denon dvd player2800mk2 connected to my denon amp avc11sr via the component connections. The amp then ouputs component to my projector. Alls OK.

However I have a tv that needs to be fed with a s-vid cable. My question is this :

Can I connect the dvd to the amp with a s-vid cable as well as the component ones so that I can also watch dvds on my tv?

Didnt want to just try it incase I shorted something.

    Advice and help much appreciated.

You'll need to connect the DVD to the amp by s-video as well for this to work. The amp will only upconvert and not down as far as I know.

If it does down convert it will be fine anyway.

    Should work fine.

If you get no picture from the DVD then you will need to connect the DVD by s-video to the amp also.
